Styling your output document

NovaScriber has a simple and powerful way to let you style your output-documents. Whether they are Word- or Epub.

How to get there

Click on the third icon above your project tree. This will open the Project Settings pane, with the “Publish” tab opened. As shown here below.

Documents

Document styles are global for your project. You can change them anywhere in your project, and all changes will be stored on the highest level of your project.

Changes are shown immediately in the preview on the right hand side.

Page settings

You can set page size and margins, based on templates, or your own custom settings.

Detail settings

Styling can be done for all paragraphs, for block quotes and your headings until Heading level 7. You can set fonts, font size, indent (on paragraph), alignment (left, right, center, justified), paddings, margins and more.

Ebooks

For e-books you have the same and similar options. The only exception is page size, as page size is variable and relative to the e-book reader itself.

Publish settings

Choose Publish Settings to control page breaks and what will be removed or kept in your output.

Page breaks before and after headings

For each heading-level you can set whether it will have a page break before and after. By default Heading levels 1 to 3 have a page break before. But you can change that any way you like. In the preview you can see what the result will roughly look like, based on your page settings.
